PAMET INternship Assistance and Scholarship (PINAS) Program
The PINAS Program is an inaugural scholarship program of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, celebrating its 60 years in service. This scholarship program aims to support financially challenged but academically gifted Medical Technology students in their local internship rotation. The program is named PINAS to help augment the need for Medical Technologists in the country. Six slots will be allotted for the year 2024, of which one slot is allotted for interns of each of the six regional divisions of PAMET (Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Southern Mindanao, and NCR). Recipients of the said scholarship program are entitled to receive 60,000 pesos as assistance for internship-related expenses such as tuition, affiliation fees, lodging, and transportation.
Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2024.
Requirements:
- Must be a bonafide incoming Medical Technology intern of a PASMETH Member School (AY 2024-2025) in a CHED-accredited training laboratory.
- Must not have any grade below 85 or equivalent during the first three years in the Medical Technology program.
- Must be certified in need of financial assistance by the Dean/Program Chair.
- Students with scholarships are welcome to apply if no conflict exists in their contract.
Guidelines and Mechanics:
- Interested students must fill up the link provided with the required attachments:
- 2x2 Studio Picture (White background)
- Certified True Copy of Grades from 1st to 3rd year (including 2nd semester or 3rd trimester grade)
- Letter of Application explaining the need for assistance with signature of approval from the Dean/Program Chair
- Finalists for the scholarship program will be contacted on or before June 30, 2024.
- A 100-item exam will be given covering all Medical Technology Licensure Examination courses. The exam administration shall be scheduled based on the finalist's PAMET Chapter location with the assistance of local chapter officers.
- An online interview shall also be conducted to select the deserving finalists. A 3-member panel shall be invited to conduct the interview. Finalists must have a stable internet connection and turn on their cameras during the online interview.
- The financial assistance and medal shall be awarded to the selected scholars during the following PAMET Events:

Notification to the general membership of the official roster of candidates for the 2023 PAMET National Election scheduled on 06 December 2023, 1pm-5pm. Eligible PAMET members may cast their votes provided that they are registered to the annual convention. In the context of the submission of PAMET for its revised 2022 Constitution and By-Laws to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and pending the ruling of SEC on the said submission, electoral proceedings shall be held in abeyance should the SEC rule favorably on the said submission provided that such ruling is issued before the scheduled national election and all electoral proceedings in such instance shall be declared void ab initio.

This is to notify the general membership that the filing of candidacy for the 2023 PAMET National Election for its national officers and board trustees is now open until 15 November 2023, 03:00 pm (Philippine Standard Time).
The PAMET national election is scheduled on 06 December 2023 from 01:00 pm to 05:00 pm (Philippine Standard Time) during the 59th PAMET Annual Convention.
Only qualified members as per the 1979 PAMET Constitution and By-Laws and as embodied in the 2023 PAMET Election Code may run for office or cast their votes.
All interested parties must secure and submit a Certificate of Candidacy (COC). Request the said document from the PAMET Electoral Committee by email to pamet.elections2023Pgmail.com or through persons deputized by the Electoral Committee.
All proceedings of the PAMET Electoral Committee including the conduct of the PAMET national election is governed by the 2023 PAMET Election Code.
Further, PAMET has submitted its revised Constitution and By-Laws to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In the context of the pending ruling of the SEC on the said submission, electoral proceedings shall be held in abeyance should the SEC rule favorably on the said submission, provided that such ruling is issued before the scheduled national election. All electoral proceedings in such instance shall be declared void ab initio.

PAMET members with updated membership status who contracted COVID-19 or died from the said disease are eligible for a one-time limited financial benefit.
Take note of the conditions below to determine your eligibility for the said benefit:
IN CASE OF ILLNESS:
- Onset of illness must be between June 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021
- Applicable for moderate, severe or critical hospitalized COVID-19 cases
- Must be a PAMET member with updated membership status for fiscal year 2021 and beyond
- Membership must be updated/paid prior to onset of the disease
IN CASE OF DEATH:
- Must be a PAMET member with updated membership status at the time of death
- Membership must be updated/paid prior to the onset of the disease
REQUIREMENTS:

- Medical certificate or medical abstract stating disease severity and dates of hospital confinement

Postponing of the August 2020 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination

PRC Resolution 1245 series of 2020 postponing the August 2020 Medical Technology Licensure Examination to a later date to be determined by the Professional Regulatory Board. The postponement is due to safety concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"WHEREFORE, considering the foregoing and to ensure the satety of the PRC examinees, the Board and examination personnel, the Comission RESOLVES to POSTPONEthe conduct of the 30-21 August 2020 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination, and to RESCHEDULE the said examination to appropriate dates thereafter."

Ang pangyayaring ito ay labis na ikinalulungkot ng pamunuan ng Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET) at ng lahat ng mga Medical Technologists sa buong Pilipinas at maging mga nasa ibang bansa.
Ngayong tayo ay nasa gitna ng ganitong krisis ay higit na kailangan natin ng serbisyo ng mga Medical Technologists at iba pang mga healthcare professionals. Napakahalaga ng kanilang bahagi sa laban natin kontra COVID-19. SIla ay nagsasakripisyo at kaagapay ng gobyearno sa pagsugpo ng kumakalat na sakit. Marami sa kanila ay dinapuan na din ng COVID-19 sa kagustuhang maglingkod sa kapwa. Ganun pa man, patuloy silang tumutugon sa tawag ng tungkulin.
Ito ay isang maliwanag na tahasang pagtapak sa dignidad at pagpapakita ng kawalang respeto sa ating mga Medical Technologist at iba pang health professionals.
Ang PAMET ay kaisa ng lahat ng Medical Technologist, frontliners at health professionals sa pagtutol at pangkondena na sa ganitong uri ng pang iinsulto, pangmamaltrato, panghihiya at pakawala ng respeto lalo na kung ito ay nanggagaling sa isang halal na opisyal ng gobyerno.
Higit itong nakapanglulumo dahil ang Lungsod ng Pasay ay napasa kalian lamang ng ordinansa Bilang 6100, Series of 2020, upang tugunan ang anumang uri ng diskriminasyon at magparusa sa mga lalabag dito. Ito ay pirmado ng buong konseho ng lungsold kasama na si Konsehan Arnel ‘Moti’ Arceo. Magbukas sana ito sa isipan ng lahat ng nagpapatupad ng anumang uri ng batas na sila ang unang dapat sumunod dito.
Ngayong panahon ng krisis ay walang puwang ang ganitong mga pangyayari lalo na at pinipilit nating itaas ang morale ng mga frontliners upang lalong nilang makita na pinapahalagahan ang kanilang mga sakripisyo. Ang ating mga Medical Technologists ay patuloy na naglilingkod para sa kapwa at para sa bayan.
Ang ating mga inihalal na mga opisyal ay tinitingala nating bilang ehemplo ng maayos na pakikitungo sa kapwa at tamang pagtrato sa mga tao kahit ito ay isang ordinaryong empleyado o propesyonal. Ano mang uri ng trabaho o propesyon nabibilang ang kahit sino man, sila ay dapat bigyan ng pantay na pagtingin at nararapat na respeto.
Bilang isang halal na opisyal ng lungsod ng Pasay, inaasahan po nating ang mas malawak na pananaw sa sitwasyon, mas mahinahong pakikipagusap at mas makataong pagrato sa mga naglilingkod sa kapwa at sa bayan.
Tandaan natin na anuman ang lumabas sa bibig ng isang tao, ito ay pagpapakita ng ating tunay na karakter at pagkatao. Kung may pagkukulang man sa proseso, ‘protocol’, komonikasyon o kung anumang posisyon merong ang isang tao, ito ay hindi nagbibigay ng karapatan sa kahit sino na sigawan, marahin at insultuhin ang ating kapwa lalo na kung ang mga ito ay tahimik na ginagawa ang kanilang tungkulin at sumunod sa mga naibigay na direktiba o panuntunan.
Huwag nating pabayaang tuluyang sumuko ang mga healthcare workers hindi dahil sa COVID-19 kundi dahil sa pagbaba ng kanilang morale dala ng mga ganitong pangyayari.
Nananawagan tayo sa mga opisyal ng gobyerno at sa lahat ng Pilipino na ibigay ang ating pagsaludo sa mga health workers sa paraang parangal at hindi sa paraang magaspang. Ibigay natin ang karapat dapat na dignidad bilang patunay sa ating paghanga sa kanilang kabayanihan at kontribusyon sa bansa.
Taimtim na ipinagdarasal ng PAMET na sana ito ay magbukas sa mata at isipang ng lahat ng naglilingkod sa bayan at hindi na muling maulit ang ganitong pangyayari.
We Medical Technologists do not deserve this kind of inhumane treatment. Nobody deserves it.

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP (MS, MA, PHD)
- PAMET Scholarship Application Form - properly accomplished
- Letter of Intent addressed to the PAMET President through the Committee on Scholarship. It shall state the reason/s for applying for a scholarship
- Scholastic Credentials - this shall include photocopies of recent Transcript of Records/ Official copy of Grades, and other pertinent scholastic records
- Registration Form for the Current Semester/Proof of Enrolment
- Recommendation Letter - addressed to the PAMET President issued and signed by the HEI official and the immediate head in case the applicant is a working student and placed separately in sealed envelopes
- Certificate of Good Moral Character - issued by the Higher Education Institution and immediate head from the place of work if in case the applicant is a working student
- Curriculum Vitae with 2 copies of 2x2 recent ID Picture - should include Personal Profile, Academic Background, and other pertinent information
- Photocopy of Updated PRC license
- Photocopy of updated PAMET ID
- Photocopy of Birth Certificate
- Photocopies of proof/s of active PAMET membership and participation

Dagdag Karanungan Scholarship

"Dagdag Karunungan, Kinabukasan ng Kalusugan" is a post-graduate scholarship
program supported by Safeguard for active PAMET (Philippine Association of Medical
Technologists, Inc.) members. PAMET envisions Medical Technologists in the
Philippines to be globally competitive and highly competent. The purpose of this
program is to assist medical technologists in completing their higher educational goals
and achieve higher competency as med tech professionals. This scholarship is available
on a competitive basis to medical technologists practicing in the Philippines who are
active members of PAMET
AWARDS
The program is divided into two (2) categories:
- Masters degree / Doctorate degree (Full Scholarship, Dissertation/Thesis)
- Post-graduate Training Scholarship Course along any of the specialized fields of Medical Technology.
ELIGIBILITY
All applicants must be practicing medical technologists in the Philippines and active members of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, Inc.
For Masters / Doctorate Program:
- The applicant must be enrolled in a Graduate Program in Medical Technology or specialized field which can be finished in 2-3 years.
- Must have earned at least 15 credit units.
- There will be 1-3 grantees at a time.
- The scholarship will cover the tuition fee starting the semester after earning the required 15 units for full scholarship and fees for thesis / dissertation as assessed by the Scholarship Committee.
- Must be an active member of PAMET in good standing.
For The Post-graduate Training Program
- Maximum of 10 scholars will be chosen per scholarship cycle.
- Applicants must be practicing as Medical Technologists for at least 3 years.
- Must be an active member of PAMET for at least 3 years.
The scholarship program will cover the fee for the course.
SELECTION PROCESS
Selection Criteria
The Post-Graduate Scholarship Award Selection Committee will evaluate and recommend applicants on the following priority order and criteria:
- Academic achievement (for masters/doctorate program only)
- Recommendation letter from the immediate head.
- Completeness of application and timeliness
- Active membership and involvement to PAMET
- Not an incumbent National officer or member of the Board.
Selection Process
- PAMET shall create a Grant and Scholarship Committee, composed of the Executive Officers
- The decision of the Post Graduate Scholarship Committee is final
- Selection Notification will be given in writing to grantee
- Chosen scholars will be notified of their selection through mail.
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GRANTEE
Post-Grad Scholarship
- No grade lower than 1.75 or its equivalent in any subject to maintain the scholarship.
- A completion report must be submitted three (3) months after graduation.
Thesis / Dissertation Grants
- The thesis/dissertation must be completed and passed within 1 1/2 years from the
time the grant was given. You are expected to use the grant funds only as
specified in the approved grant proposal and submit the final report including
details of expenses together with a copy of the paper within 30 days after defense.
- The Final Research Paper will be presented in any PAMET major activity and to be published in PAMET journal.
HOW TO APPLY
- Fill-up The Post-Graduate Scholarship application form. All sections must be completed.
- Include two (2) original letters of recommendation. Note: Letters of recommendation should be placed individually in sealed envelopes
- Most recent school transcript of records must show all enrolled, completed and transferred credits. (for masteral / doctoral)
- Completed applications must be sent on or before the postmark deadline. No exceptions or extensions will be made. No e-mail applications will be accepted.

Series of Free CPD Programs Lined-up in September
September 10, 2017
On top of the regular CPD activities, PAMET has organized several CPD programs for the month of September to be offered free of charge to all participants. It coincides with the extended national celebration of Medical Technology Week, which is observed every third week of September by virtue of Presidential Proclamation 1181 issued on September 6, 1973.
The first of a series of three free CPD programs is that of seminar on “Leadership” offered to Chief Medical Technologists from different institutions in Metro Manila. It was held on September 4 at Black Mamba in Quezon City.
During the Medical Technology Week proper, the pilot training-workshop on Phlebotomy will be given to recommended Medical Technologists from various laboratories. It will be a two-day activity on September 13 and 15, with East Avenue Medical Center as the venue.
Lastly on September 30, qualified PAMET members will have the opportunity to participate in the “Professional Development Program” which will be held at Crowne Plaza Galleria Hotel.
All activities mentioned were properly credited with CPD units by the Professional Regulation Commission.
PAMET Congratulates and Welcomes New RMTs

The Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET), warmly congratulates and welcomes the 4,821 new Registered Medical Technologists, who passed the licensure examination given by the Professional Regulatory Board of Medical Technology on August 26-27, 2017. The national passing rate is 85%, the highest in the history of Medical Technology Licensure Examination.
Special congratulations go to the topnotchers and top performing schools for an excellent performance.
PAMET, being the only Accredited Professional Organization (APO) for Medical Technologists will join the Oathtaking Ceremonies on September 29, 2017, at the Philippine International Convention Center. PAMET President Ronaldo Puno will lead the Oath of Membership of new PAMET members.
